Sten Oskar Eugén Dahlström was born in Borgvik parish, Värmland on 28th July 1899. He was a Swedish painter and Sculptor
Initially, Dahlström worked as an industrial draftsman. In 1924 Dahlström attended The Art Institute of Chicago where he studied painting and sculpture - returning in 1927 to attended the Royal Academy (Konstakademien), Stockholm (where he studied under Carl Milles, Nils Sjögren and Albert Engström). Dahlström then travelled (in 1933) to Holland, Belgium, Norway and Denmark and studied in Paris.
Dahlström first exhibited in Stockholm at Josefsons Konstsalong (1934). Other exhibitions include Galerie Sanct Lucas, Vienna (1943) and Thurestams Konstsalon, Stockholm (1945); Norrköping (1944, 1949 and 1952), Värmland Museum (1944 and 1947), Linköpings Museum, Kristianstads Museum (1946), Katrineholm (1948), Karlskoga and Ulricehamn (1950) and Jönköping (1951). He often exhibited with the Östgöta Art Association - receiving a scholarship in 1933.
Sten Dahlström died in Åby, Östergötland county on 10th September 1967, aged 68.
Examples of Dahlström work are held in the collections of the Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Norrköping Art Museum and Värmlands Museum.
